Indian Treaties

This book defines treaties in general and describes the nature of treaties and agreements made between Indian nations and the United States Government. It further explores the roles of the executive, legislative and judicial branches in the negotiation, approval and enforcement of treaties and discusses the basis for treaty litigation in the last half of the 20th century. Included are over 200 detailed footnotes, five sample treaties from different eras and a selected bibliography. Heavily footnoted. 90 pages.
